 Concord Forklift Masts - Concord is situated 29 miles east of San Francisco, California in Contra Costa County. The city itself covers 31.13 square miles and in 2000 had a population of 121,780, making it the biggest city in the County. The city rests near Mt. Diablo.
About 13% of the population in Contra Costa Country is represented by the population in Concord and that will continue to grow as Concord is one of the fastest growing countries in the San Francisco Bay Area. The central location to surrounding communities as well as its copious population makes Concord an ideal place for companies to locate. It provides a large customer base and an educated staff.
Concord is very well located and provides residents with easy access to San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Sacramento, and Napa Valley. The Immediate Bay Area offers a large selection of activities and scenic routes and the warm weather conditions encourages residents to enjoy the scenic attractions all over Northern California.
In downtown Concord, the main attraction is Todos Santos Plaza, which is well-known for its farmers market. It has a lot of destination restaurants and free summer concerts. To be able to take advantage of the public transportation and the beautiful area round the park, the city has just redeveloped the downtown area, adding new condominium and apartment projects. Unfortunately, this has not totally solved the homelessness and crime problems within the downtown area.
Concord served as a bedroom community for the bigger cities of San Francisco and Oakland in the past. Nonetheless, within the previous few decades, there has been an increase in the job market. Back-office operation like those from Chevron and Bank of America, have been established here. These have helped to bring a wider variety in the local economy. Among the biggest shopping centers in the US, Sunvalley Mall, is situated here, and several auto dealerships, Cosco, and Fry's Electronics. Prior to being shut down in the year 2008, the website hosting provider Atrivo also headquartered here.
