Santa Clarita Forklift Masts - The city of Santa Clarita is the fourth biggest city in Los Angeles County and the 26th biggest within the state of California, with an approximate population of 180,000. Within the US, Santa Clarita was just named the the sixth safest place to reside. This ranking was given by the FBI for cities more than 100,000 inhabitants. During 2006, Money Magazine ranked the city of Santa Clarita 18th in the top 100 places to reside. The city was incorporated in 1987 and combined the communities of Canyon County, Newhall, Saugus, and Valencia. Downtown Los Angeles is about 35 kms southeast of Santa Clarita. When seen on a map Santa Clarita forms a distinctive triangle shape due to the intersection of the Antelope valley (SR-14) and Golden State (I-5).

The Enterprise Zone is comprised of the commercial and industrial areas within the northern and western parts of the city. It was zoned on the 1st of July, 2007 to offer tax incentives to businesses who built there. At present, 97 percent of all industrial, business and commercial zoned land is situated within the Enterprise Zone. Several large companies have chosen Santa Clarita as their base, like Salt Creek Grilles, Condomman.com, True Position technologies and Trigg Laboratories.

The service sector is the biggest sector of the Santa Clara economy, with around 41 percent of all companies of the city performing services. Retail holds approximately 21 percent of the economy, and the rest is divided equally among the finance, insurance, real estate, and construction businesses.

Santa Clarita is a city which is generally comprised of smaller companies as only 5 percent of the companies have more than fifty workers. Roughly 59% of companies in the city comprise fewer then five employees. Companies who hire between five and nine employees count for roughly 19%.
